Martha Berry papers, 1902-1942.

The collection consists of papers of Martha Berry as founder and director of the Berry Schools, Berry College, and its predecessor, Berry Junior College (Mount Berry, Ga.) from 1902-1942. The bulk of the collection is composed of two series, office correspondence and subject file correspondence, which document Berry's administration of the various schools, her fundraising activities, and interaction with donors. The literary productions series contains speeches (1917-1934), manuscripts, and reminiscences; legal documents includes Berry's will and school charters; and printed material consists of newspaper clippings, pamphlets, programs, and samples of fundraising letters.
