The collection contains the records of the Consumers' Conference and consumer information collected by the Conference from 1926 to 1958. The records include the organization's constitution, newsletters, correspondence, radio scripts, membership lists and minutes. The collected materials consist of numerous publications distributed by companies, the federal government and others concerning these and other consumer issues: appliances, budgeting, clothing, cosmetics, food and food labeling, laundry, and weights and measures. The collection also has personal correspondence, resumes, scrapbooks and greeting cards of Dr. and Mrs. Dennis E. Jackson, as well as minutes from Rollman's Swifton Customer Advisory Board.

The Consumers' Conference of Greater Cincinnati was founded in 1934 by Mrs. Dennis E. Jackson as an outgrowth of a class in consumer buying given at the University of Cincinnati. The goals of the Conference were to educate women on consumer affairs and to promote protective legislation. In addition to holding meetings and publishing a newsletter, the Conference had a weekly radio program and a speaker's bureau.
