Mortimer A. Warren papers, 1835-1917.

Primarily business and personal correspondence of Mortimer A. Warren of Collinsville, Connecticut. Warren worked for the Connecticut State Board of Education and was an educator and author. Much of the correspondence, dated from 1855-1917, is from Charles D. Hine, Secretary of the State Board of Education, or relates to school attendance, the employment of children, child neglect, and child labor laws. Also includes Board of Education Reports of Attendance and evening school attendance certificates. Contains some of Warren's poems and other writings as well as his notebooks and ephemera, including invitations and programs to school dedications. Also contains some correspondence of his father, Alanson Warren, and his uncle, John E. Woodruff. Contains correspondence to Desire Crouch and Susan Vaughn.
