Burrows and Avery families papers, 1650-1905 (bulk 1779-1835).

Contains correspondence and bills and receipts of the Burrows and Avery families of Groton, Connecticut. Includes correspondence, tax lists, and bills and receipts of Reverend Roswell Burrows, pastor of the Second Baptist Church in Groton, as well as his sermon notes and meeting minutes from the Second Baptist Church and Groton Union Conference. Includes the estate papers of Roswell's brother, Joshua Burrows, and some family probate and estate papers and inventories. Also contains indentures, summonses, and other legal documents and land papers, including surveys. Includes papers of Latham Avery, Roswell's father-in-law, including some relating to the Susquehanna purchase. Latham Avery was one of the proprietors of the Susquehanna Company.
