Collection contains invoices, bills, and receipts of Whitehead, and scattered militia and tax records kept by a sheriff of Nelson Co. Volumes include an account book kept by Whitehead and Ralph W. Lofftus in their slave trading business, giving prices of slaves and a volume containing newpaper clippings relating to the Whigs, Henry Clay, and the tariff.

Henry Clay Sr. (April 12, 1777 – June 29, 1852) was an American attorney and statesman who represented Kentucky in both the Senate and House.
