Manuscripts, personal and business correspondence, Arizona National Guard records, business records and scrapbooks of clippings relating to Alkire's interests in Arizona history, his banking, dry goods and cattle ranching business, and his involvement with the Arizona National Guard and the Salt River Valley Water Users Association. Business correspondence includes correspondence with Lorenzo Hubbell and other Indian traders; and correspondence with Carl Hayden regarding the Salt River Water Users Association. Arizona National Guard materials document the formation of the guard in Arizona and include circulars, payroll documents, rations, rosters and disbursements.
