Southern Newspaper Publishers Association records, 1903-1985.

Materials relating to the SNPA and its member newspapers, including files on standing and special committees; conventions; SNPA-sponsored conferences, meetings, and clinics; and various special projects, such as promoting the use of newspapers in education and investigating opening a newsprint plant to serve member newspapers. Also included are SNPA history materials that include file copies of documents important in the development of the organization over the years. Among these items are several panoramic photographs taken at early SNPA meetings. Also included are file copies, some bound, of most SNPA publications. Most materials date from the 1960s through the 1980s, though there are earlier publications and some earlier records.

The Southern Newspaper Publishers Association (SNPA), was founded in 1903 with the purpose of advancing the welfare of member newspapers.
