Andrew and Marina Wister Dasburg papers, 1919-1980.

Summary: Collection consists primarily of materials concerning the art of Andrew Dasburg and the work of his third wife Marina with the New Mexico Association on Indian Affairs. Andrew Dasburg's papers include letters sent and received, clippings, art exhibit catalogs and other publications featuring his artwork. Marina Wister Dasburg's papers consist primarily of letters sent and received. Most of the letters are to and from officials of the American Association on Indian Affairs and the New Mexico Association on Indian Affairs, including New Mexico Association president Magretta Dietrich. Many of the letters concern the Pueblo Indians of New Mexico, especially Taos Pueblo. Also within the collection are black and white photographs of people and locations in the vicinity of Taos, New Mexico.

Dietrich, Margretta Stewart, 1881-1961

Dietrich was president of the New Mexico Association on Indian Affairs from 1932 to 1953. She was also active in many civic and cultural organizations in Santa Fe, serving as a trustee of the Laboratory of Anthropology and the School of American Research.
