Lutheran World Federation International Scholarship and Personnel Exchange Program participant files (1956-1987) concern those participants for which the Lutheran World Ministries (LWM) Office on International Scholarhship and Exchange was responsible, namely, those from or coming to the United States. Files contain applicant interview reports; resumes, scholarship applications; participant reports; host church/institution reports; reference letters; statement of aims; grade transcripts; academic evaluations; short-term study and tour itineraries, check lists and planning records; and correspondence regarding acceptance into the program. Established in 1947, the USANC was administered by the National Lutheran Council's Executive Committee from 1947-1966. Upon termination of the NLC in 1966, the USANC became a separate standing body.
