Diaries of manufacturer in Salisbury, Conn., and of governor of Conn., from 1857 to 1858; the 1825 volume has an extensive entry on his visit to the American Asylum at Hartford for the Education and Instruction of the Deaf and Dumb; on November 14, 1851 refers to reading speech of Kossuth at Southhampton, England; on June 9, l873 states that there is talk in the ore mines of trying Chinese labor; on May 5, 1876, mentions 51 trees were planted in the Salisbury school districts by the Village Improvement Society.
