Swamp land affidavits, 1859.

Affidavits state that greater part of tract is subject to periodic overflow and that tract is therefore rightfully enured to the State of Illinois for swamp land reclamation under an Congressional act (Sept. 28, 1850). Entries include tract county; tract legal description; acreage; name and residence of person making affidavits; date of affidavit; and certifications by justice of the peace, two witnesses, and clerk of the county court. Also includes statement completed by Register and Receiver giving purchaser name; tract purchase date; and Receiver's receipt number.

Under regulations approved on March 20, 1915, tracts set aside as villa sites under the provisions of an act of April 12, 1910, within the former Flathead Indian Reservation, Montana, were offered for sale at public auction, beginning at Polson, Montana, on July 26, 1915.
