Cronly papers, 1881-1916.

Business correspondence, tax records, and bills and receipts relating to Cronly's management of the San Pedro Ranch and the San Juan Ranch, and his management of properties for Joseph B. Girard. Correspondence from Girard to Cronly discusses business and current events, and contains descriptions of military posts at which he served including Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, Vancouver Barracks, Washington, and Fort Sam Houston, Texas. There is also one sketch by Girard of Fort Apache.

Cattleman, Tucson City Councilman, and 1884 Mayor of Tucson. Cronly was born in New York in 1835; he arrived in Arizona in 1872 and operated a sutler's store at Fort Apache in association with Tully and Ochoa. He served as mayor for five months in 1884; then was involved in ranching in Pima and Pinal Counties until his death in 1918. Joseph B. Girard (1846-1918) was a military medical officer and artist.
