The photographs series includes copy prints of original photographs and are arranged into the following categories: people, places, events, and images copyrighted by the Thirman Studios. The business/financial records series consists of daybooks, ledgers, billing statements, and a correspondence copy book from three companies in in White Oaks, New Mexico: Goodman Ziegler, Ziegler Bros., and White Oaks Mining Co. The newspaper article "Apache Leader Makes Chapel Possible" is from the El Paso Times, March 11, 1976. It relates the story of how Shanta Boy, a wealthy Apache leader made it possible for Father Albert Braun to build a chapel on the Mescalero Apache Reservation. The diary, a typescript copy, consists of a statement by John Chisum about his imprisonment after being sued by William Rosenthal for non-payment of notes left by the company Wilbern, Chisum, and Clark.

Eve Ball was a well known historian and authority on Apaches. She lived in Ruidoso, New Mexico, near the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation.
