Summary: Collection consists of Cooke's professional papers and a broad range of publications on the history of New Mexico. Includes typed manuscripts and galley proofs by Cooke and Peter Hertzog from the Press of the Territorian on New Mexican topics such as outlaws, hangings, ghost towns, the Lincoln County War, old town Albuquerque, and La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe. Cooke's correspondence as editor of the Press of the Territorian and the periodical "The New Mexico Territorian" includes a series of letters to and from author Robert N. Mullin. Also within the collection are legal documents involving the Rio Mimbres Irrigation and Power Co. and the Deming Ice and Electric Co., as well as publications (including brand books) from the English Westerners Society (1961-1965), the Chicago Corral of Westerners (1961-1966), and the New York Posse of Westerners (1954-1955).
