First director and co-founder of the Lake Charles Little Theatre. Born August 27, 1900, in Woodville, MS; moved to Lake Charles in 1910. Became the first female university cheerleader in the U.S. while attending Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans. Taught at Lake Charles High School and worked in father's insurance agency. Was world traveler; knew presidents and prime ministers. Best remembered for providing food and lodging for young writers, artists, and actors. Died June 7, 1964; interred O...
