Records from 1800-1840 only list head of household by name. Other members of the household are broken down by gender, race, and age group. Beginning with the 1850 census, the name of each individual was listed. Each entry includes name, gender, race, age, marital status, occupation, and state or country of birth. Later census records provide even more information.
