Reminiscences, 1867-1871.

Bound volume contains Yates' handwritten reminiscences, mostly "cases" about persons whom he encountered or to whom he ministered, including sailors, prostitutes, and others. Cases discuss, among other things, illegitmate births, an abortion, and conversions. Other passages concern his youth, involvement in a duel, the surrender of Fort Sumter, and Yates' medical operation for the removal of a tumor at the age of nineteen. Included are a few printed pages (1828) from a medical journal concerning Yate's operation.
