Summary: Collection consists of the family papers of the C be Baca, Rudolph, and Sanchez families of Mora County, New Mexico (1875-1949), other Mora County documents (1809-1935), and miscellaneous papers. Bulk of the collection covers the years, 1809-1935. Family papers include: marriage, birth, and death certificates; land records (primarily for land in Mora County); correspondence; receipts; and stock certificates. Also included are papers concerning the settlement of Manuel Antonio Sanchez's estate, Pablo C de Baca's political career, Martina Guadalupe C be Baca, and a genealogy of the Rudolph family. Mora County documents consist of: records for land grants issued by Garcia Noreiga (Mayor of Mora, New Mexico), conveyances, and deeds (1809-67); 2 unofficial bound volumes of birth and death information which include the names of the attending midwives for some of the births (1924-35); a register of all Mora County residents registered with the National Re-Employment Services, a Works Progress Administration program (1935); St. Gertrude's church and parish records; and the last will and testament of Thomas Barns (1865). Miscellaneous documents consist of a notice relating to epidemic diseases dated 1877, a testimonial by Archbishop of Santa Fe Jean Baptiste Lamy dated 1862, a military dispensation dated 1862, and some material relating to the Penitentes.
