Ralph E. Twitchell papers, 1896-1986.

Summary: Collection consists primarily of the personal and professional papers of Ralph E. Twitchell, and also includes the papers of his first wife Margaret Collins Twitchell, his second wife Estelle Bennett Twitchell, and his son Waldo Twitchell. Among Ralph Twitchell's papers are several typed manuscripts with handwritten corrections and additions; letters sent and received (including a 1911 letter from Theodore Roosevelt); reports and correspondence of the New Mexico Board of Historical Service (1917-1919); and reports on the New Mexico building at the 1915 Panama-California Exposition in San Diego. Margaret Collins Twitchell's papers consist of financial documents and letters sent and received during the 1890s. Estelle Bennett Twitchell's papers consist primarily of letters sent and received, and materials on the history of the Bennett and Twitchell families. Waldo Twitchell's papers consist primarily of letters sent and received, and typed manuscripts of his short stories and plays. Most of his letters involve correspondence with Arthur M. Fournier. Collection also includes five scrapbooks belonging to the Twitchell family. Two scrapbooks contain clippings on New Mexican history; two contain materials concerning the 16th National Irrigation Conference in Albuquerque (1908); and one contains materials concerning the 46th Continental Congress of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington D.C. (1937).
