The Lutheran World Federation-Commission on Latin America correspondence files (1963-1970) are those of Stewart W. Herman, Jr. in his capacity as U.S.A. National Committee of the Lutheran World Federation (USANC) representative to the Commission. Correspondence, minutes, newsletters, and reports regard coordination of Commission activities and support of Lutheran churches, congregations, and organizations in Latin America. Also included is correspondence with pastors of Latin American churches supported by the LWF concerning pastors'activities, and parish problems, invitations to special congregational events, and visits by. Herman and other Commission members. Correspondents include Guido Tornquist and Arno Dreher, Directors of the LWF Commission; and Paul C. Empie, NLC Executive Director (1948-66) and USANC General Secretary (1967-72, 1974-75); Alfreds Gulbis, President of El Consejo Lutherano de Venezuela; and Hnasruedi Peplinski, Secretary of the same body.
