Financial records (1947-1986), maintained by U.S.A. National Committee of the Lutheran World Federation (USANC) and Lutheran World Ministries (LWM) Treasurer Walter A. Jensen, contain correspondence, minutes excerpts, budget outlines, and legal documents regarding incorporation and name changes, tax exemptions and financial responsibilities of the National Lutheran Council (NLC), the USANC, and LWM. Folders concerning corporate data include correspondence and legal documents regarding name and by-law changes, tax exemptions, and incorporation matters. Finance files include discussion of the USANC and. LWM's support of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT); the National Indian Lutheran Board (NILB); and the World Brotherhood Exchange. Also included are correspondence and documents regarding the USANC and LWM's purchase of services from the Lutheran Council in the U.S.A. The American Lutheran Church (1961-1987) was formed by the merger of the American Lutheran Church (1930-1960), the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the United Evangelical Lutheran Church.
