Daniel Boone papers : warrants, an indenture, and surveys, 1780-1820.

This collection consists of a treasury warrant, surveys, maps, deeds, and a note. Four of the documents relate to a land transaction in which Daniel Boone was involved. The land in question was in Fayette County, Virginia (later Kentucky). Boone received a treasury warrant, no. 1243, from Virginia in 1780, for one thousand acres of land. Surveys in the collection document the land that he chose to patent. On the back of these documents, the patents were written. In addition to the surveys, there is a letter written to Waller Overton by Boone on July 24, 1786. The letter requests another copy of the survey because of a boundary dispute.
