Revolutionary bounty land scrip : certificate, 1859.

This collection consists of a certificate issued by the General Land Office on January 18, 1859. It was signed by the Secretary of the Interior, Jacob Thompson. The document was issued in satisfaction of a land warrant that had not been fully patented. The original warrant was issued to John Spencer for his service on the State Line of Virginia during the Revolutionary War. He assigned the warrant, number 2813, to William Reynolds. At the time this document was issued, Austin P. Cox was the holder of the warrant. On theback of the document, E.H. Taylor was authorized to assign the land scrip.
