Proceedings are of regular monthly Board meetings and frequent daily meetings. Board meetings usually concern plans to visit and inspect institutions, approval of institutional expenditures, rules and regulations for operation of institutions, bids and plans for construction projects and transfer, promotion or dismissal of employees. Also included is transcript of 1912 Board meeting held to discuss location of state hospital for insane at either Bowman Tract or Rodgers Tract in Madison County.

In 1909 Board of Administration succeeded to executive and administrative duties formerly held by trustees of all state charitable institutions (l. 1909, p. 102). Besides appointing managing officers of all state charitable institutions Board was required to visit and inspect each institution under its jurisdiction.
