Gwynedd Monthly Meeting was established in 1714 by Philadelphia Quarterly Meeting out of Haverford [later Radnor] Monthly Meeting. Gwynedd held its first session in 12mo 1714/5. It was transferred to Abington Quarterly Meeting in 1786. In 1827, after the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches.
