Letters between Hovhaness and Mr. Cohen (Jan. 20, 1976-Nov. 4, 1978), conductor of an unnamed symphony that was attempting to recreate the 1934 Boston Pops performance of Monadnock and Boreas and Mount Wildcat, which in 1976 was considered lost; although copies of the score did exist at New England Conservatory's Harriet M. Spaulding Library. Apparantly, the parts were extant somewhere as Hovhaness gave permission to copy them. In the initial letter he suggests that the title is silly and should be changed to "Mt. Wildcat" or "Storm on Mr. Wildcat." Further discussion of program notes, what works the composer was working on at that time, deadlines and upcoming performances are also mentioned.
