Roster of officers, 1861-1866.

Officers roster for all Illinois regiments includes each officer's name, rank, and company; date appointed to rank; and occasional remarks (e.g., original commission; promotion, resignation, desertion, death dates). Also noted for each company are the muster out place and date; individual mustering company out; discharge and final payment location; and remarks on veteran unit creation and consolidation. Also listed are officers attached to or comprising the Governor's staff; Quartermaster General's Department; Board of Medical Examiners; Board of Army Auditors; and Military State Agents showing name, rank, date assumed rank, and positions held. One volume only includes rosters of officers mustered into the 14th and 15th Battalions and the 7th, 8th, 52d, and 53d (consolidation of 23d and 41st) Infantry Regiments of the Illinois Veteran Volunteers.
