Files (1943-1961) of the Department for the Christian Approach to the Jewish People contain correspondence, memoranda, reports, addresses, and study committee minutes regarding the activities of NLC sponsored Jewish mission centers, Jewish organizations and missions, and area secretaries, and issues relating to Jewish-Christian relations. The final folder in the series contains pamphlets and booklets published by the Department, Division, or NLC regarding ministry to Jewish people. Correspondents include NLC, Division, and Department officials and staff; NLC participating church body mission board officials, national church organization officials; Jewish mission officials and area secretaries; parish, field, and visitation workers; and. Lutheran pastors and lay persons. Secretaries of the program include: Harold T. Floreen (1949-1952), Nels E. Bergstrom (1953-1956), H. Conrad Hoyer (1956-1960), and Lawrence W. Halvorson (1960-1962).
