Letter (1792 July 24) to William Shaw, Jr. in Cambridge (Ninety-Six District, S.C.) concerns negotiations over the price of a tract of land in Greenville District, S.C. sold by the estate of Henry Pendleton (d. 1788) and purchased by the firm of Smiths, DeSaussure & Darrell. Letter (1792 July 27) to George Gibson in Ostend (Belgium) discusses shipments of rice and gin.
