Autograph letters from John Wilson to Alexander Blair [manuscript], 1824-1850.

Twenty-five letters mainly about Shakespeare, especially Macbeth and Othello, both of which are discussed in detail. The Greek tragedies are also much treated, and Shakespeare's work is compared with them. In most letters Wilson ("Christopher North") asks for ideas on specific subjects or points.

William Shakespeare was likely born April, 23, 1564; he was baptized in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 26, 1564.
