Minute book of the General Board of the Church Association, 1873-1888.

Minute book kept by association secretary Thomas W. Bacot. Minutes of the meetings concern the religious services and charitable work of the Church Association and other benevolent organizations at Charleston's jail, hospital, and almshouse. Other topics include the establishment of missions, work on local cemeteries (especially Magnolia Cemetery), association finances, policies regarding Sunday excursions, and other social and religious issues. Volume includes a clipping (1873) about the beginnings of the Church Association and a list of board members.
