Spiritual eyes and a joking heart, 2006.

Christensen explains that because of the stress and confinement of the Provo Missionary Training Center, young missionaries participate in traditions and pranks to relieve their tension. The traditions serve as an initiation to a new way of life and unite different people into a family unit. Pranks are common because the missionaries relieve pressure by finding humor.
