George & Lucy Sword diaries, 1889-1896.

Three volumes of journals, all photocopied. The covers say "5-947: Department of the Interior. US Indian Service." The books are related to the Pine Ridge Agency in South Dakota, and the Oglala Boarding School. There are lists of English names with corresponding Native American names. There are drawings. There are lists of words, mostly in another language, possibly Oglala or Lakota. Occasionally, the words "Captain George Sword" or "Lucy Sword" appear. Financial notes have also been written in the diaries. Volume 1: 1892-1896. Volume 2: 1891-1894. Volume 3: 1889-1892.
