My first kiss -- : first kiss stories, 2003.

Updike discusses the first kiss experiences of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She describes the standards of physical affection adhered to in the Church and explains that since the Church standards demand sexual abstinence outside of marriage, a kiss becomes the most intimate way of showing affection that is allowed for unmarried people, and is therefore sometimes treated with more importance than in other cultures.
