William IV was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and King of Hanover. The third son of George III, William succeeded his elder brother George IV. Dorothy (Dora) Phillips Bland was born in London on November 22, 1761, into an acting family. She made her acting debut in Dublin, Ireland in November 1779, and her London acting debut at Drury Lane in October 1785.
