Cassette tapes, transcripts of tapes, and related materials. All interviews are done by students of Jill M. Derr for a history class called Woman's Place in Utah taught at Brigham Young University Winter Semester 1977. The students were assigned to interview women who had graduated from Brigham Young University in the 1950's. The student interviewers were instructed to obtain biographical data of each interviewee and to discuss four specific issues: 1) life plans, i.e., how they felt about work and family; 2) experiences and course work at Brigham Young University; 3) sources of encouragement to attend college; and 4) attitudes concerning the feminist movement.

Plans for the David O. McKay building began in 1952 after an evaluation by the Brigham Young University College of Education concluded that the existing building for the College of Education were no longer meeting the growing needs of the program.
