Address in favor of the aboriginal inhabitants of America, ca. 1823.

Manuscript copy of address given to an assembly of Christians by Dewi Brown, also known as David Brown, requesting support for missionary activity amongst Native Americans. Brown, a Cherokee Indian from Arkansas, was a student at Andover Theological Seminary in 1823. Subjects include native American religion, the prophet Wiluga, the war between the Cherokees and Osages in 1817 (at which Brown was present), and Native American relations with European settlers. Copy made by Elizabeth M. Peabody. Location of original unknown.
