James T. and John H. Robinson Papers, 1827-1865.

Collection contains personal and business correspondence concerning personal affairs, the 5th and 63rd regiments of the N.C. Cavalry Volunteers, casualties, and prisoners. The letters mention the Clark, Redd, Robinson, and Sherrill families. Some reflect a hopelessness of the fight as Union soldiers kept coming in greater numbers. Also, advice is given to James to stay out of the army. There are descriptions of fighting around Fredericksburg and Petersburg. There is also an undated letter between two doctors discussing the treatment of a Mrs. Robinson's breast cancer.
