Includes an account of Fillmore's trip through the southern United States in the spring of 1854, written by an unnamed fellow traveller.

Millard Fillmore was born in Cayuga County, N.Y. and later became a resident of East Aurora and Buffalo. He was a lawyer, local office holder, State Assemblyman, U.S. Congressman, N.Y. State Comptroller, Vice-President under Zachary Taylor and 13th U.S. President, 1850-1853. He was also involved in establishing numerous Buffalo institutions.
