There are also several books and some sheet music published by the store; clippings, 1867-1981; a scrapbook documenting the store's move across Main St. in 1960; and some photographs of AM & A's stores and employees.

Robert Borthwick Adam (February 4, 1833 – June 30, 1904) was a retailer and book collector from Buffalo, New York. In 1867, Adam co-founded the department store Adam, Meldrum & Whiting. Adam's home at 448 Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, built in 1876, still stands. Adam was born in Peebles, Scotland, on February 4, 1833, to Rev. Thomas Adam and Isabella Borthwick. Robert Borthwick Adam was born July 4, 1918. He was the son of Robert Borthwick Adam (1863-1940) and Lena Benjamin Stevens Adam (1879-1940). The elder Robert B. Adam was a prolific book and manucript collector, as was his father before him. With his sisters, Robert Borthwick Adam, III sold the collection to Donald and Mary Hyde in 1948 after their father's death. He died September 10, 1993 in Buffalo, New York....

Robert Borthwick Adam was a prominent manuscript collector. He was born in England in 1863 as Robert Borthwick Adam Scott, son of John Scott and Jean (Adam) Scott. In 1872, he was brought to Buffalo, N.Y, and adopted by his uncle, Robert Borthwick Adam (1833-1904), a prosperous department store owner.
