Born in 1902 in York, Penn., Rear Admiral William Bronley Ammon graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1923. During his 36 year career as a naval officer, he served as Assistant Director, Division of Naval Communications from 1948 to 1951 and then as Director of the Naval Communications Office from 1952 to 1955. Having graduated with the first class of the National War College in 1947, he returned to the college in the position of Deputy Commandant for Military Affairs, 1958-59. Fr...
