Dufossari Landry ledger, 1872-1925, 1872-1877.

Ledgers of operations of what appears to be black-owned firms in New Orleans, for work performed, items bought. The jobs mentioned are cotton factoring, painting, wall papering, plastering, gilding, carpentry, brick laying, cement work, and store keeping. Some of the customers were Dr. Joseph Hardin, a leading black medical doctor, Mercier Real Estate, Antoines restaurant, the Royal Hotel, and the Decuir family, famous for the U.S. Supreme Court case of Josephine Decuir. Black families such as the Ded́e's and the Lawlesses are also mentioned.
