Minutes of regular and called meetings document political activity of a Democratic Club during the Reconstruction era; incomplete, unbound volume includes mission statement, information re the election of officers, results of various resolutions voted upon by the membership. Minutes report activities of other Democratic clubs, including the Central Club, Edgefield Courthouse, and proposal, 10 Oct. 1868, from the Central Executive Committee, Orangeburg District, S.C., to institute a courier system to improve communication among Democratic Clubs with the state.
