[Letter and poem] / Christian G. Rossetti. [1876]

Letter and envelope, 1876 Nov. 20, 30 Torrington Square, London, W. C., England [to] A. H. Dooley. Rossetti thanks Dooley for his letter and explains the minor differences between the American and English editions of her writings. She also mentions she has not sanctioned the publication of her portrait anywhere and recommends her sister's (Maria Francesca Rossetti) book: Shadow of Dante, published in 1871. She also mentions she had not read Daniel Deronda, by George Eliot. -- Poem "Mariana." Fair copy written before 1882. On the verso of the poem: An original poem by Christina Rossetti in her handwriting, M. Z. G. (Marya Zaturenska Gregory). She later added: presented to me by Bryher.
