Papers of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, 1788-1878.

Correspondence, 1870-1878, of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, includes a letter regarding an unidentified business meeting, a note of thanks for a printed dedication, and a letter to an unidentified recipient inviting him to visit the Tennysons at Farringford. Also a contract, 14 March 1871, between Tennyson and John G. Kennett for additions to the Farringford House; and three letters, 1873-1874,from Tennyson to James Knowles, regarding the publication of Enid, his 1874 change of publishers, and a visit to Aldworth, the Tennysons' second country home. With these is a letter, 6 August 1788, from John Page, Williamsburg, Va., to James Madison, New York, N.Y., congratulating Madison on his successful efforts to bring about the ratification of the Constitution.
