Wetmore collection on Rhode Island commerce [microform], 1706-1851.

Collection of documents purchased by George P. Wetmore in 1912 pertaining to commerce in Rhode Island, and Newport in particular, from 1706-1851. The collection contains tipped-in letters, bills of lading, accounts, receipts, and other shipping documents. Among the individuals represented heavily in the collection are Rhode Island merchants Abraham Redwood, Stephen Ayrault, Aaron and Abraham Lopez, and Christopher Champlin. Also included are the lists of documents sold to Wetmore at auction in 1912.
