Correspondence concerning his activities with the 132nd Indiana Infantry during the Civil War, and his life as a student and professor at Butler University, Hiram College and University of Michigan; also lecture notes and other papers pertaining to his teaching activities, three volumes of personal accounts, 1899-1920; and a diary, 1869, kept while a professor at Alliance College in Ohio.
