Marriage certificate, 1859.

The 1859 marriage certificate of Ada Salmon and Ezra Ayres Carman. They were married by Rev. James Runcie in Jeffersonville, Ind. Ayres went on to become an officer in the Civil War, the comptroller of Jersey City, N.J., and the Chief Clerk of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
