Court document re a theft of turkeys prior to Thanksgiving in Sumter County, S.C. Affidavit, sworn in "Trial Justice Court," Sumter County, S.C.: "Richard Brown being duly sworn says that on the 18th day of November 1890, on the place of D.J. Winn in the City County and state aforesaid, was stolen and Embezzled ... Three turkeys - towit one dark gobler and two dark colored hens hatched out this year, the personal property of him the said Richard Brown."
