The Jewish Central Information Office was founded by Alfred Wiener, a German Jew who worked for the Central Association of German Citizens of Jewish Faith ( Centralverein deutscher Staatsbürger jüdischen Glaubens ). In 1933 he fled to Amsterdam where he founded the agency along with David Cohen. The JCIO produced reports to spread word of the activities that were occurring in Nazi Germany. Herbert Pazol was a Muncie jeweler and community leader. Following service in World War II he served as post commander of AMVETS, Muncie Post 12 during 1949-1950. He was a member of Temple Beth-El, served on the Delaware-Muncie Metropolitan Plan Commission and was vice president of the 1978 Delaware County Historical Festival.
